1834 In India, (1834??38) as a member of the supreme council of the East India Company he reformed the Indian educational system and composed a legal code for the colony

1839 He was secretary of war (1839-41)

1842 Lays of Ancient Rome

1846 he was paymaster-general (1846-47)

Approx 1849 The History of England from the Accession of James the Second (5 vol., 1849??61).

1857 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Macaulay of Rothley.

1859 Died
